Each MAK has a predetermined number of allowed activations and is based on your volume licensing agreement. Each Office activation that uses MAK counts toward the activation limit. After Office is activated, no re-activation is required unless the hardware changes significantly.

We have made the move from KMS to Active Directory Activation using a Server 2016. Our issue seems to be the clients (Windows 7) are still querying the old KMS server for activation even though DNS for the domain is correct. If we manual set KMS (slmgr -skms:) and then -ATO it works. Any suggestions

There are two ways to transfer Office 2016 to a new computer. If you want to make sure that your Microsoft Office can run without an activation problem, Method 1 is the most suitable choice. If you want to transfer Office manually, Method 2 is a nice choice.
